Mesenteric Castlemans's Disease
Abstract
Castleman's disease was first described in 1956 as an enlarged, benign and hyperplastic mediastinal lymph node that resembled a thymic tumor. Most cases of Castleman's disease occur in the mediastinum. However the neck, retroperitoneum, pancreas,
pelvic
cavity, and axillary and inguinal lymph nodes are uncommon sites of involvement. Mesenteric Castleman's disease is especially known as a very rare condition.
We report a case of mesenteric Castleman's disease and review the literature.
